DAY 5 (20TH MAY 2015)
On the 5th day of our Tokyo trip, we went to a temple and a park.
Now, I guess you might be thinking: "Wah temple and park...all boring places ah. Ok I'm gonna skip this post then."
Well, if that's really what you are thinking right now, tell you what, those places are NOT boring at all!!! Also, by visiting the places, I got to truly experience the diversity of culture in Tokyo. Although Tokyo is a modernistic and busy city, there are places like Sensoji Temple and Ueno Park that presents you the traditional side of Tokyo you might have not seen before!
(Due to the abundance of pictures I've taken in day 5, I've decided to split the postings! Otherwise, this post would be a little too dreadful to read hahaha.)

Had a good breakfast to fuel me up and get ready for the day!!

Salad was great. Bread was toasted to perfection. Sausage and ham complemented the dish too well.

Mummy's tuna bread.

En route to Asakusa!!

Asakusa can be easily explored on foot. But if you are tired/ lazy, you can also consider a guided tour on a rickshaw (a man-powered vehicle). However, the fees are quite expensive. :/

Here we were in front of the icon of Asakusa - the Kaminarimon Gate (雷門 Thunder Gate), which leads to the Sensoji Temple.

One thing you need to know about Sensoji Temple is that it is always crowded, simply because it's one of the most renowned tourist destinations in Tokyo.

The Nakamise Dori street, which houses more than 90 souvenir shops and Japanese street food restaurants.
Anyway, the weather was so sunny that day. I think it was the hottest climate I had experienced throughout my entire trip in Tokyo haha! It totally felt like summer that particular day!

In Sensoji Temple, you will get to try A LOT of traditional snacks!! *nom nom*

Besides, it's also a great place to shop for souvenirs too!! However, the merchandises are not cheap, probably because it's a touristy place.

Homaigosh, look at those cute socks!!!

The frog that brings you good luck and great progress! *touched everywhere LOL*

How about getting some Japanese fashion for your puppy?!

Oh hello there, Tokyo Skytree - one of the tallest towers in the world!!

Oh look at those fluffy clouds swimming in the beautiful blue sky!

I also noticed that every corner of this place is super clean despite the crowd!!

It's believed that by catching the smoke of incense on your body will purify, heal and bring luck to you.

Here's another side of Sensoji Temple that is free from the wisps of smoke and the overwhelming crowd, offering you a peace of mind.

The five-storey pagoda.

Grabbed a quick (and cheap) lunch before heading to Ueno!

Love the gyoza here!!
