I don't know how my life would be like without him, but I don't even want to think about it. Because I know he is, and always will be there for me.
We've been together for more than 3 years now, but I really couldn't recall how I celebrated his previous birthdays (lol, I'm such a bad girlfriend with a super poor memory). Perhaps we didn't really celebrate at all because his birthday always falls on examination period, which makes it pretty hard for us to spend time celebrating together. Plus, he always told me that he didn't need any celebration at all.
But this year, I decided to treat him something nice to compensate for the missed birthday dinners in the past 2 years hahahahah.
On the day before his birthday, I made a reservation in Prime @ Le Meridien Hotel, but of course I kept the venue secret until I told the Uber driver our destination. Before that, he told me that he would be elated even to have Ramly burger for his birthday dinner and I told him: "Well, you can have Ramly burger as supper if you want, but right now we are heading to somewhere nice yo" lololol

Teddy and I were obsessed with this plate of complimentary breads. They were such a good appetiser, especially with the butter!! We had to fight the urge not to ask the waitress for more lololol.
I decided to go for the Oyster Blade Steak (RM130 for 220g) done in medium rare after coming across of a few of its positive blog reviews. It was VERY tender and juicy (as you can already see from the picture above). It also had an exquisite taste-of-the-beef. Urgh, I feel like my description is not doing this piece of steak any justice...sorry for the terrible caption, but it's really, really good, and that's all you need to know!!!
Teddy went for the Augustus Ribeye which costs RM120 for 220g. It tasted superb too, with its firm texture encasing a charcoal smoky flavour! Very succulent and juicy - my tummy is screaming for it now!
As for the sauce, I chose the truffle sauce while Teddy opted the cracked Sarawak peppercorn sauce. I couldn't decide which is better, because both are equally good omg. Half the evening was spend by Teddy and I alternating between these two sauces haha!
We also ordered the truffle mashed potato (RM18) as our side dish. It was, hands down, the best mashed potato I've ever had - it had a super creamy and smooth consistency, which would effortlessly melt within an instance a scoopful is delivered into your mouth. It is as if no bowl of mashed potatoes shall claim superiority in the face of this one.
Never say no to fries. By the way, it was served as a complimentary side dish!
As a dutiful glutton, my tummy didn't call it a day after the Oyster Blade Steak. I decided to add on a Crème Brûlée (RM30) as the finisher! Mind you, the portion of this dessert is meant for sharing!! It was good, but a little too sweet for my liking. The one I had at L'Occitane Cafe in Tokyo still had the throne in my personal Hall of Brûlée!
If you are looking for a fine dining restaurant for birthday or anniversaries celebrations, I would say that PRIME makes a great (but rather expensive) option! The ambiance was pretty romantic (but the lights kept going on and off at irregular intervals, nobody cared to explain) and the food was excellent (albeit a little too pricey). The waitress who took our order was very polite, and she also recommended us their signature dishes and sauce. However, our glass of water did not get any refill even though we have finished it for the longest time, a detail I think the waiters could have been more attentive towards.
I guess I will come back to try out different steaks next time on some special occasions hahahaha.
Anyway, Teddy and I forgot to take a picture together lololol, so there will be no photos of us in this post (not to say that a lot of people want to see our photos together, but well, just in case you are wondering)
