My friend told me that Opus Bistro has been in town for at least 5 years now but I was totally unaware of its existence until last week.
I paid my first visit to Opus Bistro in The Bangkung Row last week for Charmayne's birthday. It's located just a few streets ahead from Jalan Telawi.

The restaurant is not really spacious as it can only accommodate not more than than 20 tables. However, the ambiance is pretty romantic and relaxing.

In Opus Bistro, you get to enjoy a variety of traditional Italian cuisine ranging from salads to pastas, and risottos to steaks.

Just like any other Italian restaurants, a complimentary breadbasket will be served prior meals.

As a kick starter, we ordered the Opus’ Special Seafood Antipasti Platter (RM45). Consisting of grilled scallops, prawns, fresh clams in white wine sauce and calamari, this platter will surely satiate the desires for the ones with a lust for seafood. I personally loveeeee the clams in white wine sauce and the grilled scallop. The white wine sauce tasted so good that we finished it down to the last drop with the bread.
They offer their pastas in 2 sizes - primi and secondi. For those who have a rather small appetite, primi is the way to go!

I ordered a primi Angel Hair Pasta with Scallops (RM19). Apparently, it's a recommended dish as stated on the menu. But to be honest, it did not meet my expectation at all - the taste of the pasta was so bland that I had to request for some salt to give it some flavour. I was quite disappointed with the dish, but luckily the scallops did earn back some brownie points from me.

Charmayne went for the secondi Angel Hair Pasta with Scallops (RM32). (same as my order, but in secondi serving) The portion was obviously bigger than the primi one, but the taste was just the same. Personally, it's rather sad to discover that the taste of this dish is meant to be this way.

Spaghetti ala Opus (RM36) for Secondi. This is another signature dish from Opus. In fact, this is the one that can be truly crowned as the signature dish!!

Spaghetti Seafood in Squid Ink Sauce (RM22) for Primi

Linguini Aglio Olio with Smoked Duck (RM19) for Primi

Group pic with the girls hehe!! Cheers to more celebrations together in the coming years x
