WHERE TO STAY IN KHAO YAI: THAMES VALLEY KHAO YAI

Hello guys! For those who are following me on Instagram, you would have known that Joanne and I visited Khao Yai and Bangkok for a short vacation last week.

Just a 3-hour drive away from Bangkok, Khao Yai is a small, undiscovered wonderland in Thailand.

HOW TO GO TO KHAO YAI FROM BANGKOK?

You can either rent a car and drive there yourself, or you can hire a private driver from KLOOK (highly recommend this option). KLOOK is a RELIABLE travel booking platform where users can easily discover and book activities/experiences all around the world, and it has the best prices online. They also have the e-voucher features on their app so that there's no need to print any vouchers or tickets! Super convenient.

Prior to our trip, we booked a 3D2N Khao Yai custom tour from KLOOK, and this package includes a three-day charter service (12 hours) for your custom tour, with an experienced driver and an air-conditioned vehicle, inclusive of fuel costs and toll charges. For this package, the driver can pick you up from the Bangkok airport so that you don't have to hire a separate driver to do so. If you don't want a 3D2N package, KLOOK offers 1-day and 2-day packages as well. Head over to their website for more info!

I will definitely recommend this custom tour package to anyone who wants to visit Khao Yai, simply because having a private driver is just so convenient and you can travel anywhere you want by just providing your itinerary to the driver. Another huge benefit of having a private driver is that you can just travel at your own pace - no need to wait for anyone nor rush to anywhere like how you travel with a traveling agency or something. Flexibility is the greatest part of this custom tour I would say.

And because the public transport in Khao Yai is pretty scarce (don't think they have uber or taxis there...), having a private driver can just eliminate the transportation problem. Also, our private driver went extra mile to help us search for all the hidden photo-worthy spots that we didn't know existed (which I will blog in my next post).

Alright, so in this post, I'll be sharing with you the resort that I stayed in Khao Yai -THAMES VALLEY.

Honestly, upon reaching this resort, we were all astounded by the exterior of the resort.
The entrance to the lobby is absolutely enchanting. It felt like we've arrived in the Alice in the Wonderland maze!

This resort is inspired by the charms of the green belt running west out of central London along the River Thames corridor.
I am in love.
Looks like a fairytale, doesn't it?

The Castle Restaurant and Tea Room.
The resort also has a spa centre - Rose Spa. We went for an Aroma & Oil full body massage and we felt extremely pampered and relaxed. It was exactly what we needed after our flight and 3-hour car ride!
The swimming pool.

I love the Scandinavian and rustic design of our room. It just feels so cozy and warm - a home away from home. I swear Joanne and I just wanted to stay in our room all day!

The washroom

There's also this area that features a sofa bed and a coffee table. Super cozy. Joanne and I loved chilling at this area and had our mini karaoke session.

In the afternoon, we indulged in a high-tea at The Castle Tea Room.

I love every corner of this tea room - I absolutely love the interior and how attention-to-detail they are in everything, including the choice of flowers they used to decorate the table, the pillow colours, the type of furniture they used....urgh, it's beyond perfection.

Here's our fancy tea set...

...with a fancy background. The hotel staffs reserved this "VIP" area for us omg!!!!

Accentuated with blue and white elements, the outdoor area of the tea room is super beautiful as well. And it boasts a perfect view of the resort - amazing.

View from the tea room. I feel like I am in heaven...

Again, details, details, details.

If you guys were wondering if I felt HOT wearing long sleeves while sitting outdoors, my answer is NO. Surprisingly Khao Yai was pretty cold (it was 18 degree celsius) throughout our trip and we couldn't be more grateful for the beautiful weather.

Thames Valley is indeed one of the best resorts that I have ever stayed at. Great hospitality, amazing ambiance, perfect for a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.
