THE LAST HUG.

I never knew so many things could happen within such a short period.

The drastic change in my life made me wonder if my life is like a sad Korean drama.

I have to admit that I'm a pretty emotional person. I cried over trivial things. And I am just going to shamelessly tell you all that I always can't hold my tears back when I watch Korean dramas because their parting scenes are always so heartbreaking.

I guess I just can't deal with parting, this shit is crazy. It drives me nuts and affects me emotionally and mentally.

Yet, I still chose the path that would eventually lead me to being apart with the one who would have to leave. I already saw it coming. I knew this all along. Yet, the heart wants what it wants. And, despite knowing all the consequences that I would have to bear, I still went with it. Sometimes, I regretted for making this decision.

But sometimes, I just felt like it's worth it anyway because I had a great time and built good memories with him...but time just flies mercilessly, especially when we are having a good time. And the day has to come. It's today.

I told myself it's okay, and we will definitely meet again. I told myself that I can't shed a tear today. I must be the strong and independent girl that I always am. But before I leave my house, I grabbed a pack of tissues nonetheless because I already knew...

This morning, we had breakfast together. I tried to act as if I'm okay. But the more I try to convince myself to be okay, the more I feel like throwing up. My body is already reacting to it while my mind tries to convince my heart that everything will be okay.

Then, as we walked slowly to the train ticket counter, I realised that my tears were already rolling in my eyes. Every step felt heavy. We sat by the bench after he has got his train ticket and he held my face and asked me not to cry anymore.

10 minutes went by and he gave me a last hug before he had to leave. I wish I could fucking freeze time and tears just welled up in my eyes as my vision became more and more blurry. I wiped them away quickly, just to see his face clearly for one last time.

And there, he passed through the gate and waved me goodbye.

I thought I would burst into fucking tears, and being all dramatic and screaming "kajima"and shit (just like how Korean dramas always show), but surprisingly I did not. I just walked away, back to where I came from..

I don't know how our future is going to be like.

I don't know when we will meet again.

But one thing I know for sure is that, I will keep all these good memories in my heart.

I know it's not going to be easy...but I really wish the best for us.

Till we meet again.

I NEED A DOCTOR..

Have you ever felt so sick that you feel the urge to see a doctor but you just didn't have the energy to drive all the way to the clinic / you just didn't have transportation at all?

Well, I have experienced that before.

I remember I was so sick that I vomited more than 5 times on the same day. It totally drained my energy dry and I could barely even move. What worsened the situation was that there's no medication at home, and NOBODY at home to take me to the doctor. I was literally stranded on my bed, waiting for my mum to get home from work and drive me to the clinic. It was such a terrible experience and at that point, I certainly wished there's a way to get a doctor to come to my house!

Just imagine how bad the situation would have been if it the condition wasn't only vomiting but something far more dire, something that quickly leads to fatality with the absence of prompt medical attention?

NOW, THERE IS ACTUALLY A WAY TO "GET A DOCTOR TO COME TO MY HOUSE WITHIN 60 MINS".
Better yet, it can all be done with an app.
What? What app?

Introducing Doctor2U. the app that allows you to request a fully-licensed and experienced doctor on-demand, to your home, office or hotel!

You can now request a Doctor on behalf of your loved ones or even for yourself! Doctor2U is to help individuals who are unable to access healthcare due to disability, old age, busy schedules or any other circumstances. From newborn babies to elderly parents.

I just found out about this app not long ago, and I think that it's a brilliant innovation which revolutionised the public's consumption of healthcare services. The app is definitely going to benefit a lot of people!

As of today, Doctor2U offers 3 kinds of services:

1) Doctor House Calls
As mentioned above, you can now request a doctor to arrive at your doorstep, and it is pledged that the aforesaid happens within 60 minutes.

2) Medication Delivery
If you are certain of the kind of medication you need, you can also request for a medication delivery through the app! Alternatively, you can collect your medication in at any BP or Lovy Pharmacy outlet nationwide. To make things easier and faster, you can also snap a picture of your prescription and send it to the pharmacists through the app!!

3) FREE Live Chat
There are many times when we are unsure what kind of sickness we have and we just don't know whether there's a need to actually visit the doctor. Now, with Doctor2U, you can actually consult an experienced doctor, pharmacist, or nutritionist right from home, or even on-the-go!! You can even upload an image of your condition and send it to the healthcare providers so that they can better understand your condition.

I must say that I'm really amazed with this service!! I always tend to Google about the symptoms I observed on myself, trying to diagnose what's wrong with myself cluelessly. Unfortunately, sometimes websites can only tell you so much. So why not consult an actually experienced medical professional through this complimentary live chat system and get your doubts cleared?!

(And also, we all know how expensive some doctors can charge solely for diagnosis, and now that Doctor2U is offering this service for free, so shouldn't we be thankful for that?!)

Doctor2U is now available all over Malaysia, and their service is available 24 hours, seven days a week, so be assured that you can certainly get quality personal care anytime when you need it.

Doctor2U is available for download on both App Store and Google Play Store. Feel free to share this app around with your family and friends!! It will definitely come in handy at times, and they will surely thank you for it! ;)

NOTHING ELSE BUT HEALTH

I will never forget about the pain I went through last night.

So I have been feeling rather weak lately and just a week ago, I was down to a flu and diarrhoea. And I guess it's probably due to the salmon sushi I had a week ago. The next day, I woke up feeling nauseous and I lost all my appetite to eat. I took meds and thought I recovered 2 days later.

Then I had dinner with my friend on Tuesday.

Had a creamy carbonara and I felt sick after having that dish. The next morning, I woke up with diarrhoea and I vomited the pasta that I had the previous night. After vomiting, I felt much better and thought it was just merely indigestion. And I just carried out my usual routine in the afternoon, feeling really normal and great.

In the evening, I got a stomachache, and the ache was similar to the kind of ache when you feel hungry. So I thought I was just hungry and I would be fine after having dinner. But after I had my dinner, the pain still lingered. Then, I took the Chinese pills that are meant for curbing stomachache. At around 11pm, the pain got more and more severe that I couldn't even walk....And no, the pain didn't feel like the usual "I-want-to-shit-stomachache". It just felt so painful that it was squeezing my intestines. And it hurt so badly even with just a slight movement...

I had no choice but to wake my parents up to send me to the hospital. I even felt like fainting and before I got into the car, I vomited. I felt like shit.

When I was in the car, I couldn't even lie down and I just hugged myself, with my head resting on the headrest of the front seat. My parents quickly drove me to the nearby hospital.

So I was required to do a quick check-up on my blood pressure, whether I have fever or not, and also to measure my weight. I was shocked when I see that I only weighed 42.5kg. That means I lost about 3kg recently because the last time I weight myself, I remember I was 46kg. I knew that my appetite wasn't really good lately but I never thought it would cause such a huge difference on my weight.

After the check-up, I was brought to the emergency room. The doctor gave me an injection and also drips for 1 hour+ and also did a blood test. He mentioned that if the pain gets severe after the drip, I would have to be hospitalised.

So I lied on the hospital bed, with my left hand lying straight beside me, and my right hand hugging my stomach. I felt so sad...and all of a sudden, I was like: so this is how sick patients feel....lying on the bed all day with the drip on your left hand and you can do nothing about it...you just couldn't move.

An hour later, the doctor came back to check on me and asked me how I felt. To be honest, I could still feel the pain...but the doctor said the drips won't deliver immediate effect. Anyway, I was discharged because the doctor said my blood test results show that I am normal.

When I got home, I just crawled up to my bed. I forced myself to sleep and forget about the pain. And I think I slept after a while because I guess I was just too tired. I woke up in the middle of the night, discovering that my period came. WTF. I hope the pain I felt wasn't due to pre-menstruation?

This morning, I woke up feeling better and I am grateful that I made it through a painful and horrible night...

I really don't wish to experience it again because it is really a scary experience...

And now I really wish for nothing else but health. Never ever take your good health for granted because you are just nothing without health, even you have all the money in the world.

P.S. Thank you everyone for your wishes, I am feeling better now!

4 REASONS WHY I LOVE LOKI (MY INTERNSHIP COMPANY)

24/3/2017

Today marks the last day of my internship in LOKi Media. It has been nothing but a fun and memorable journey with the team over the past 3 months. There are just so much memories in this company....

Honestly, LOKi wasn't my first choice. It was not part of my plan. I actually got accepted by another company at first, but some shit happened and I got into LOKi (thank you boss for accepting my last-minute request!!!). You know how they say the best things always come unplanned, unexpected? Yea, that's how I feel about LOKi.

Before starting my internship, I was like damn it's so going to be a long journey! The thought of going into a completely new environment and working with new people for 3 months made me feel excited and anxious at the same time. But in the blink of an eye, I'm already officially done with one of the most important phases in my life, and I'm so, so glad to have joined LOKi. And here are the reasons why...

1) Making new friends

Picture taken from Krystal's Instastory hahahaha

Before joining LOKi, I thought internship is just going to be work x5. But joining LOKi has proven me wrong. It's not only about the "work" here, it's more about the "people". I never thought that I would meet so many new friends and build new friendships here in this company. Shoutout to my intern buddies, Quin-Nee and Krystal who made work more fun (they call us the Powerpuff Girls). Before I left the company today, I gave them a tight hug and I couldn't help but cried as so many good memories sprung to my head. I will never forget how we met, how we spent our lunch time together talking nonsense and sharing stories. Thank you for all the good times together. :')

2) Friendly people, friendly working environment

It did not take me long to adapt into the culture of the organisation. The people there are so friendly, nice and fun! They treat you like a family and make sure you don't feel left out. The boss is also the best boss that I have ever worked with. He is so humble, affable and open-minded. He treats everyone of us like a friend and always jokes around - so there's really no employer-employee gap between us. Also, boss is a sweet-talker. On my last day, I asked him whether he has hired new interns to replace me and my intern buddy. He told us that nope he hasn't found any, and that we are irreplaceable. awwwww :') Nonetheless, he has given me so many learning opportunities and I really couldn't thank him more for that.

3) No dress code
I still remember before I start working in the company, I asked my boss whether there is a dress code in the company, and he said nope. I was like YAY. There's no need to wear formal in the company, so on some lazy days, I just dressed up in my sweatshirt and jogger to work hehehe.

4) Learning opportunities
If you are studying Mass Communication / Graphic Designer / Web Development and are looking for an internship placement in a digital marketing agency, LOKi is the place (and has a place) for you. Throughout the course of my internship, I worked as a social media associate and I was assigned to many major tasks (not complaining because I was there to learn anyway). Working in a smaller agency allows me to be involved in bigger projects, which gave me a lot of learning opportunities. I got to understand more of what PR does in the real-world industry and I have gained so many invaluable experiences in LOKi. My supervisor also gave me a lot of feedbacks and encouragements, which really help to improve and develop myself. By the way, although LOKi is still considered a start-up, it has been working with many big clients which you can view on their website! So, if you work there as an intern, you will really get to learn a lot.

All in all, it has been a really fun (and life-changing) journey with LOKi and I'm so thankful for everything!!!!! Actually, I've been offered a freelance job in LOKi so technically speaking, I haven't really left the company hahahaha but I will be working majorly from home.

Can't wait to see y'all again and thank you for treating me like a part of the family!!!

On a serious note, they are hiring interns and full-timers. So feel free to check out their website and send in your CV / resume if you are interested to join the squad!

*Doing a favour for my boss because he forced me to HAHAHAHAHAH
nah just kidding! Join LOKi, really!

JESSICA'S SEOUL TRAVEL DIARY 2017

Hi guys, I'm back from my Korea trip with my brother! It's my second time in Seoul (the last time I visited Seoul was last year May) and to be honest, I still couldn't get enough of this city! This time around, I didn't go to a lot of tourist spots like how I did during my first Korea trip. So if you haven't been to Seoul and are looking for a Seoul travel itinerary + tips for first-timers, you can read my Korea Travel Guide, which I wrote last year.

OK, if you are following my Instagram, you would have probably already seen my pictures with my boyfriend, which I haven't really shared/announced on my blog..I am not sure if you guys could remember, but my previous blog post "The Last Hug" was actually about him. Just to clear off some of your doubts, my boyfriend is not a Korean oppa lolol. He is a Dutch Chinese from Netherlands and we knew each other from the company that I interned at. He is currently studying in Korea as an exchange student until June so I just thought why not I make a trip to Korea to visit him and it's also just in time to catch the cherry blossoms in Seoul too! And I tagged my brother along too so that he can be our personal photographer hahahaha.

During my recent trip to Seoul (2nd April - 10th April), I revisited some of my favourite places and also discovered some new hipster cafes! And I also went to both Lotte World and Everland this time hahaha *will never get enough of theme parks

So this is basically my itinerary for this trip -
Day 1: Hongdae
Day 2: Dongdaemun, Garosugil
Day 3: Lotte World Theme Park
Day 4: Bukchon Hanok Village (hanbok experience), Ewha Women's University Shopping Street, Noryangjin Fish Market
Day 5: Seokchon Lake, Common Ground, Myeongdong
Day 6: Everland Theme Park
Day 7: Itaewon, Ewha Women's University Shopping Street (final round shopping haha)

OUR ACCOMMODATION
We stayed in Hotel Maui DDM throughout our trip. It's a newly-opened budget hotel which is located in the vicinity of Dongdaemun. The nearest subway station (Dongmyo) is just 7 mins walk away (which is the main reason why we chose this hotel). There are also 2 convenience stores and quite a lot of restaurants (for example, Kyochon Chicken!) nearby our hotel. Our room is clean and cozy and there's free WiFi!!! We definitely enjoyed our stay there! It just feels like a home away from home!

You guys can book the hotel through Agoda!

HOTEL MAUI - 14 Jongro-66 ga gil, Jongro-gu(201-15 Sungin-dong), Dongdaemun, Seoul, South Korea, 110-550

How to go to Hotel Maui from the airport?
From the airport, get your airport bus ticket [Cheongnyangyi 6002] to Dongmyo bus station. Then from Dongmyo bus station, take a 5 mins walk to Hotel Maui. Airport bus ticket costs 10,000 won.

Standard Double Room. There are also some empty spaces beside the bed so that you can put your luggage and shopping bags. I would say that this room is just enough for me and my brother!

Toilet is really new and clean!

DAY 1
Outfit: Top from Blaqmagiklvrs // Skirt from Topshop
I swear this is a candid shot!!
Also another candid shot
We went to this beautiful cafe - Vant 36.5 Menon - in Hongdae!
When you try to be candid but end up laughing because you think you are being too pretentious...
A warm cup of coffee was just perfect for the chilly and windy weather!

Korean BBQ for dinner! There are quite a lot of Korean BBQ restaurants in Hongdae so we just randomly went into one.
And Kyochon chicken as supper! This restaurant is just located near our hotel!

DAY 2
We went to Dongdaemun Design Plaza in the morning to take some pictures. In the afternoon, we went to Garosugil to cafe-hop and shop! There are tons of cool cafes in Garosugil and it's just virtually impossible for us to try everyone of them! So we decided to go for Cafe Mula, which is a cafe with a minimalistic vibe.

How to go to Garosugil: Get down at Sinsa Station – Line 3, exit 8

LED roses

Outfit: Top from Blaqmagiklvrs // Pants from Korea
After we are done taking pictures in Dongdaemun, we went to Garosugil - Lobster Shack for lunch!
Green tea tiramisu from Cafe Mula
Honestly, it is expensive to cafe-hop in Seoul. 💸

GENTLE MONSTER - it's quite hard for us to locate the shop but it's near 3CE Garosugil!

3CE store in Garosugil

DAY 3
On day 3, we went to Lotte World but unfortunately, it started raining in the afternoon so we didn't get to explore the outdoor attractions 😔 . Thank god there are some indoor attractions and we took the 360 Giant Loop ride and the French Revolution ride (which was really thrilling)!

How to go to Lotte World: Get down at Jamsil Station (Seoul Subway Line 2, 8), Exit 4. Lotte World is directly connected to the station.
Dream came true ⭐️

DAY 4
On the 4th day, we went to Oneday Hanbok to rent a Hanbok! Oneday Hanbok is super near Bukchon Hanok Village so feel free to tour around the area after renting your beautiful hanbok!

Btw, the store is usually super crowded so I would suggest you to make a reservation first before going. There are a lot of different designs and sizes available and you can rent their hair accessories and bags too!

Rental Fare:
4 hours - 15,000 KRW
1 day (24 hours) - 28,000 KRW

How to go to Oneday Hanbok: Get down at Anguk Station Exit 2, walk straight and you will spot Oneday Hanbok across the road from Jae-dong Elementary School

After that, we went to Ewha Women's University shopping street for shopping!! It's hands down my favourite place to shop because things are cheaper here!!

Outfit: Mesh top from Blaqmagiklvrs // Sweatpants from Korea // Jacket from Forever 21

Headed to Noryangjin Fish Market for a huge seafood feast. You can pick whatever seafood you want and they will cook it for you upon ordering. The entire meal costed us about RM630!

How to go: Get down at Noryangjin Fish Market station, walk straight then turn right into a tunnel, then Noryangjin Fish Market will be in front of you.
Grilled scallop
Live octopus!! I didn't eat this though because my stomach is pretty sensitive lately lolol
Freshly-steamed seafood
Grilled abalones with butter
And our main highlight of the night - King Crab woohoooooo
The meal was soooooo good and filling👌

DAY 5
Went to Seokchon lake on our 5th day to see the cherry blossoms!! People, my life is complete!! *tears of joy

Stylenanda Pink Hotel 💓

DAY 6
I'd actually been to Everland last year but since it's my brother's first time in Seoul, I decided to bring him there hahaha! You may purchase your tickets in the counter near the entrance.

I couldn't believe that we went for the T-Express ride!!! I didn't dare to go for it last year but this year my boyfriend just forced me to go haahahaha! It was damn fun though, no regrets!

Outfit: Pink bomber and Rose tee from Blaqmagiklvrs // Skirt from Bershka
Lazy panda lazing

DAY 7
On our last day, we didn't do much actually. We pretty much just went to Itaewon in the morning for breakfast, then to Hongdae and Ewha for final round shopping.

Outfit: Frilled Top from Blaqmagiklvrs // Skirt from Korea
Bingsu date 💘

SO THAT'S ALL ABOUT MY TRIP!

I enjoyed it so, so much. Looking back at the pictures makes me smile and reminisce all our good times together. :')

Don't forget to watch my vlog!

REVIEW: MAPUTI WHITE CREAM FROM JAPAN

If you were to ask me what is one of the things I miss the most about Japan, I would say it's drugstores shopping!

Why? Simply because there are just tons of products to shop for, ranging from skin care products to body products, hair care, health supplements, daily necessities and many more. Somehow the drugstores in Japan will tend to make you buy things you never thought you needed or things you never had the intention to buy in the first place. I'm sure those who have visited the drugstores in Japan will definitely understand this. And I also love how they rank the products in the stores so that you can see what's the top-selling or hit item in Japan. The ranking always makes me feel convinced.

And recently, I received a Japanese highly-rated product, which is the Organic Fragrance White Creamfrom Maputi. You may or may not have heard of it, but once you try it, you will LOVE it.

Specially formulated for delicate zone areas, this whitening cream is great for those who are concerned with darkened skin on their thighs, crotch, underarm area, elbow, neck, nipples, etc.

If you are afraid of wearing sleeveless tops or bikinis just because you are insecure and upset about discolourations in any of your body parts, the Maputi Organic Fragrance White Cream is here to help!

I've read a lot of positive reviews about this product, and most of them commented that the effects can be observed after 3 weeks of continuous usage!

Apart from whitening, this cream also works as a scented cream / deodorant that provides a long-lasting body fragrance. I personally LOVE the fragrance a lot because it's not too strong! It's just a mixture of citrus and peach, with a hint of floral scent, which is absolutely pleasant to our olfactory senses!

But most important of all, this product is formulated with certified organic herbal extracts, contains NO artificial ingredients and it's 7-FREE (petroleum free surfactant free, paraben free, synthetic coloring free, mineral oil free, alcohol free, silicon free, synthetic polymer free).

In other words, it's totally SAFE to use on any delicate areas of your body and it's also suitable for those who have sensitive skin as well!!

HOW TO USE?

Squeeze a coin-sized amount on your palm

Massage it on the areas that you wanna target after shower. For me, I apply it on my elbow and also my knees.

 WHERE TO BUY?

You can now purchase this product from Japan Premium, which is an online store that brings you authentic products imported from Japan directly.

EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT FOR MY READERS
Key in this coupon code "MPTJESSC" to get 10% off purchase of Maputi products. Also, enjoy FREE shipping when you purchase more than 2 bottles!

LIFE UPDATE: BEING A FINAL SEM STUDENT W/ 3 PART-TIME JOBS, FUTURE PLANS, ETC

$
0
0
Hey all. It's been so long since I blogged, to be exact, updating you guys about my life.

I noticed that I haven't been really into blogging since the beginning of the year. If blogging was a school, I feel that I'm probably the dropout now. It's like I no longer have the urge to update my blog weekly, and I don't even care about whether people are still reading my blog. I guess now the only thing that makes this blog "read-worthy" are my traveling guides.

I started this blog as an online diary, an outlet for me to rant and pour my thoughts. But now, I just feel like I have so many other things to manage that I don't even have time to think for myself (let alone write them down on my blog).

It's May already and we are marching to June really soon. So that means we are reaching the mid-year already, which also means I'm graduating in 7 weeks....or maybe 6. I've been so busy. I used to be consistent in uploading weekly videos, but now I don't even have the motivation at all. It's just that school and assignments and work have taken so much of my time, and I just want to have some time for myself to relax and enjoy "doing nothing" during the weekends.

When people ask me how do I juggle between 3 part-time jobs and my final semester at the same time? My answer would usually be "time management".

Now, I would like to add one more answer to that question, stress management.

It's not easy to handle stress, whether it's the 'internal' stress that comes from within yourself, or the 'external' stress that is exerted upon you from your parents, boss, etc. I'm gonna be honest with you that sometimes I can't really handle stress well. When I'm stressed out, I tend to lose my temper easily, which means I will unintentionally hurt people with the words and remarks that I never meant to say. If there's one shortcoming that I want to take away from myself, it would definitely be my bad temper.

So how do I manage stress? It relates back to time management. I like to map out and plan things in advance. I like to set deadlines for myself so that I don't procrastinate and I think being disciplined is one of my most prominent strengths. When I work, I switch the "full concentration" mode on within myself. Well, sometimes, I do have my "less inspired" and "demotivated" days too hahahaha. So what I do when I feel demotivated is play a few songs on the piano or watch an episode of "Running Man" (the China version lel), then I will tell myself: OK, now that you have taken time to relax and unwind, it's time to get back to work.

Being a final semester student gives me so much mixed emotions (that I think every final sem student can relate). I feel excited that I will be graduating soon. But sometimes it just feels so surreal that I'm already a final sem student. And then I'll recall my lack of readiness to face the harsh reality of the working world after graduation. And if you were to ask me what my post-graduation plans are, I'm gonna be honest with you - I have no plans yet lel.

I want to take a few months off to travel, to discover what I truly like and where I really belong. I feel like sometimes we can be too saturated with what other people think/feel we should be doing, like they will try to convince you about a specific pathway to success and yada and yada, as if they know you better than yourself. But the truth is, we all should discover what we really want in life ourselves and not let them to determine who we should be.

Everyone will be confused at some point in life. For those who already have a concrete plan of your future, well I'm really happy for you. But for those who are still waddling about in the "pool of self-discovery" (like me), please know that it's okay. There's nothing bad about taking some time and inspiration to work out what we truly want our future to be like.

Hopefully, I will be able to share with you all what I discover about myself soon.

Good luck to me, and to you too.

3 SIMPLE HEALTHY HAIR TIPS

$
0
0
Over the past few years, my hair has undergone numerous chemical processes, especially bleaching, coloringand heat-styling. I used to dye my hair once in every 2 months and curled my hair every single day. Friends often ask me how I take care of my hair after all the heat and chemical processes.

Well, firstly, I would say that it really depends on your own hair condition. For me, I'm blessed that my hair is still somewhat manageable and not really frizzy even after all the hair-bleaching and colouring. I make sure to follow a set of haircare regime so that I can maintain the healthiness of my hair and not take it for granted.

So here are my top 3 simple and straightforward tips for healthy hair:

TIP #1: USE A HAIR CONDITIONER
Using a hair conditioner is a MUST for me every time after shampooingmy hair. A lot of people don't find a need to use hair conditioner but a good hair conditioner is THE game changer. It's the key to achieve the healthy, strong and smooth hair. My most favorite conditioner has got to be Pantene's 3 Minute Miracle conditioner. I've actually been using this product since last year December and I'm still hooked until now. This hair conditioner helps to smoothen 3 months of damage in 3 minutes and repair hair damage. I absolutely love how it leaves my hair tangle-free and keeps my hair looking healthy and shiny every time after I wash my hair!

TIP #2 - USE A HEAT PROTECTOR
I make sure I use a heat protector every time before blow drying or styling my hair with a curling iron. A heat protector helps to form a protective barrier which helps to retain moisture in your hair while heat is applied. There are many kinds of heat protector available in the market, some are cream type and some are in the form of spray. But for me, I like to use the spray type because it can be applied on both wet and dry hair and it's non-sticky!

TIP #3 - USE A DETANGLING BRUSH
If you have long and thick hair, you should definitely use a detangling brush. A detangling brush is a brush that has been specially designed for hair that gets tangled or knotted easily. It allows you to remove knots and tangles without tugging or pulling your hair frantically like a mad woman. In other words, invest in a detangling brush because it's literally a fast-pass to tangle-free hair! The one that I am using is from Sephora but it's already not in the market anymore. But the good news is that there are many other detangling brushes brands available in Sephora!

Good news! You can buy the Pantene 3 Minute Miracle conditioner from Watsons' online store now.

Don't forget to comment and share with me your healthy hair tips!

I honestly couldn't believe that it's already mid-June, which means I'm only one month away from graduating (oh yes, I smell freedom!) and 4 months away from my Osaka and Europe trip. I'm absolutely beyond excited!! 😆

The other day, I was talking to my friends about our own traveling plans after graduating. While some of them have many plans to fly here and there after graduating, some of them said they would love to travel but they just don't have the budget to do so.

Many of you might be wondering why and how I can afford travelling to several countries a year. Am I funded by my parents to travel? Am I sponsored to travel?

The truth is, most of the time, I pay for my own traveling expenses (flight, accommodation, shopping, etc). I work, I save, I travel.

Also, I realised that I have different priorities and goals right now. Back then, I used to spend a lot on buying clothes and I used to save a lot of money just to buy designer bags. But now, my motivation to work harder has shifted from buying luxurious items to traveling. I like designer bags (and secretly wish that I had moreeeee money to buy them hahahah), but traveling seems to be like a more worthy investment for myself as of now. There are so many destinations that I want to tick off in my bucket list and I am very excited that I will be travelling to Europe for the very first time this October.

To be honest, you don't have to earn 5 figures a month to travel and I'm saying this based on my personal experiences.

The key is to travel SMART.

There are many articles on how to afford traveling even with a low budget. Do your research and read them up as some of the tips shared by other travellers will really help you to plan for your next trip wisely!

For example, before booking my London flight tickets, I used Traveloka to search for airlines that offer the lowest fares. You guys have no idea how many times I check Traveloka a week to find the cheapest flight to London!!!

For those who have not heard of Traveloka, it's an app that gathers all travel deals which allow you to find and compare the best price for both flight and hotels.

Traveloka will display the results from the lowest fare so that you can compare the fares between different airlines! I will be traveling to London with Malaysia Airlines because it offers direct flight + it's the cheapest among the other airlines (fyi, I bought my London return flight tickets at RM2.3k). If you don't want to travel with MAS, you can also check out what other airlines can offer via Traveloka.

Also, if you want to have a last-minute Raya holiday, check out Traveloka's weekly hotel and flight promotions in the month of Ramadhan!

Not only that, I have discovered that you can now actually pay for your Traveloka flight and hotel bookings in 0% INSTALLMENT PLANS as long as you have a Maybank Credit Card. In other words, you can fly first then pay later with the 0% installment plan for 6 or 12 months!!!

I know traveling overseas can be quite burdensome, but with this installment plan, you don't have to pay everything upfront! I'm so gonna check out the hotel deals in Traveloka and book them with this installment plan!! Click HERE to find out more about this plan. 😁

So using Traveloka is definitely one of the most useful traveling tips for me. I hope this blog post will get you excited in planning your upcoming trips!

P.S. Please share with me your travelling tips and recommendations to Osaka and Europe if you have been there!! It would be fantastic if you can share with me your itinerary as well woohoo! 😆

HOTEL REVIEW | WELL HOTEL BANGKOK

Hi guys! Today I'm going to blog about the hotel that I stayed during my recent Bangkok trip - Well Hotel Bangkok. This hotel is strategically located in the heart of Bangkok on Sukhumvit 20 Road, and the BTS Sky Train and MRT station are just 7-8 minutes walk away. Super convenient. Furthermore, this hotel also has easy access to the famous shopping malls such as EmQuartier, Emporium and Terminal 21!

Besides, Sukhumvit area is one of my favourite in Bangkok because it is full of Instagram-worthy cafes and I will definitely be sharing the cafes that I visited in Bangkok in my next post.

The hotel lobby itself is already an Instagram-worthy spot!
We stayed in the Executive Room during our trip and we LOVE it. With 38 square metres across, this room is super spacious, clean and well-equipped with a comfortable king-sized bed, a huge bathroom with separate shower and bathtub, bathroom amenities, a minibar with complimentary water, coffee and tea, AND even an in-room gym (an exercise bike for you to burn some calories after makan, a yoga ball, a yoga mat, massage ball and a resistance band). Oh, there's also free WiFi in all rooms! ;)

I definitely slept well!!

For those who want to fill up your tummy in the morning before heading out to explore the city, you can book your room that comes with the breakfast buffet.

To be honest, I would wake up at 7am every day for this (ok, maybe 8am)

Apart from all the great amenities mentioned, this hotel is just so well-furbished with a lot of greens that emanates a truly tropical holiday mood. If you want to have a quick swim or sunbathing sessions, it has also got a rooftop swimming pool. Or let's say if you feel like having some awesome Thai massage, there's also a spa and massage centre in this hotel. Not forgetting to mention, this hotel also has a fitness centre for the fitness junkies.

#ootd spots everywhere in this hotel!

Ah, writing this post makes me miss waking up in Well Hotel Bangkok so, so much! I honestly enjoyed my stay here and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!!

So if you are planning to visit Bangkok anytime soon, staying in Well Hotel Bangkok is definitely a good choice. Check out their website for more info!

6 MUST-VISIT CAFES IN BANGKOK

$

One of the reasons why I love Bangkok is because its diversity in food. Bangkok is known for its Thai cuisine (which I freaking love), it also has a lot of amazing cafes that are really beautiful and great for photo-taking. (Honestly, I do think that Bangkok cafes are better than the ones in KL in terms of the ambiance, interior and food quality)

Last month, I had the opportunity to travel to Bangkok with my boyfriend for a short 4D3N trip. And guess what? We visited 6 cafes throughout our trip and that's why I am here to share with y'all my cafe-hopping journey in Bangkok!

List of cafes that we have visited:
Hands & Heart
Shugaa
Butterfly Organic Milk
After You
Fill in the blank
Patom Organic Living

Almost all of them are located in Sukhumvit area (which is nearby Well Bangkok Hotel), that's why I really recommend you to stay in a hotel situated nearby this area if you are planning to visit plenty of cafes like me in Bangkok.

Hands & Heart

Located in Sukhumvit 38, Hands & Heart cafe is a little tiny cafe with marble furnishing that exudes monochrome and minimalistic vibes. The menu is rather limited, however, this cafe is known for serving good hand-brewed coffee.

Address: 33, Sukhumvit 38 Alley, Khwaeng Phra Khanong, Khet Khlong Toei, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10110, Thailand.
Opening hours: 7am - 7pm

SHUGAA
Shugaa is one of the most beautiful cafes that I've ever visited. A 2-storey cafe, Shugaa is furnished in soft, pastel palettes and crystalline, polygonal structures that create an ethereal, dreamy ambiance. The first floor is connected to the second floor by a spiral staircase, which is the icon of this cafe. Their menu features a range of colourful desserts and drinks in pastel tones. Honestly, I think the pricing is gravitated to the higher end, but if you are a fan of pastel tones, a visit to this cafe is worth the money and experience.

Address: 27 The Residence at 61 Bldg., Sukhumvit soi 61, Klongtan-nua, Wattana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand.
Opening hours: 10am - 8pm

Butterfly Organic Milk
Butterfly Organic Milk features a clean, white interior accentuated with woody furniture. It's well-known for its organic milk and yoghurt. We ordered one low-fat yoghurt and it was really good!!

Address: 6, 23 Napha Sap Alley, Lane 2, Khlong Tan, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110, Thailand.
Opening hours: 9am - 5.30pm

After You
Famous dessert chain, After You, is my absolute favourite place for Kakigori. It serves a variety of irresistible desserts - Shibuya honey toasts, milk tea, coffee, kakigori, etc. We had the Mango Sticky Rice Kakigori and we enjoyed it a lot. The shaved-ice is soft, refined and flavoured, and it melts like snow as soon as it reaches your mouth. Inside the Kakigori you will find mango cubes and sticky rice, which go really well with the shaved-ice.

P.S. Do expect a long queue for this cafe!

There are a few After You branches in Bangkok and you can find them in major shopping malls like Siam Paragon, Central World, Central Plaza Ladprao, Silom Complex. During our trip, we went to the one in Siam Paragon and another one in Thonglor (yes, it's so good that we had to visit it twice)!

Fill in the Blank
Fill in the Blank is a cafe that features a rustic, cottage-like, wood-dominated interior. Apart from the beautiful homely interior, this cafe serves quite an extensive range of dishes from brunches to dinner. And their brunch which came in a decent portion was absolutely satisfying.

Address: 28/10 Sukhumvit 61 Alley, Khwaeng Khlong Tan Nuea, Khet Watthana, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10110, Thailand
Opening hours: 8am - 7pm

Patom Organic Living
Set in a glasshouse surrounded by lush greenery, Patom Organic Living connects you with nature and serenity in the mid of Bangkok. Promoting a healthy living, this cafe serves organic lunch boxes, coffee, tea and cold-pressed juices. Not only that, you can also purchase organic body care and skin care products in the cafe.

Address: 9/2 Klang Alley, Khwaeng Khlong Tan Nuea, Khet Watthana, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10110, Thailand
Opening hours: 9am - 6.30pm

That's all I want to share for this post and to be honest, we spent quite a lot in cafe-hopping during our trip (we uber-ed to all the cafes because uber is so convenient in Bangkok and we were lazy to walk hahaha).

I hope you enjoyed this post, and do recommend me more Instagram-worthy cafes in Bangkok in the comment section below! I would love to know!

STAYCATION IN A VILLA

I was invited to a 2D1N pyjama party / staycation in Bird of Paradise Villa, Genting Sempah by L'Occitane last week. The invitation came just in time because I just finished 2 papers, and I thought it's a perfect way for me to have a post-exam celebration (although I still have 1 more paper to go on the 22nd haha).

Away from the hustle and bustle city life, the villa is only a 40 mins drive away from KL. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the comfortable windy weather and the lush greeneries. It was absolutely calming, relaxing and serene.

Beautiful set-up by the team!

This is the L'Occitane's new whitening sleeping mask which will be launched in August!

L'Occitane surprised us with gifts on our bed! How lovely!!
During our free & easy time, we just explored the villa and take photos. The villa is an absolutely gorgeous place for photo-shooting!
The view 😍

Dinner was a spread of French canapé served by the amazing chef Nathalie from Nathalie Gourmet Studio.
After dinner, we had some games and activities and we also tried out the new L'Occitane Pivoine Sublime Overnight Mask. This stuff smells so good and I woke up the next day with a radiant skin, all thanks to this mask!

The next morning, we woke up to this breathtakingly scenic view.

Prepped our skin with some skin care products from L'Occitane before we head out to the pool and play with the sun!
Got my swimsuit from Forever 21 just for this trip! 🙈
Just chilling with my unicorn

Thanks L'Occitane for everything 😘

10 THINGS I'VE LEARNED FROM UNI

$
0
0
I am officially done with my bachelor's degree and I couldn't believe it.

It's the day I have been waiting for since I started uni, but now that the day has come, my mind is in turmoil. A part of me is super excited that I am finally done with my studies and that I have all the freedom and time in the world now; another part of me is just uncertain about my next step in life. I guess I will take some time to figure out what I want to do next. But today, I just want to note down and share something that I have learned from throughout my uni life. Hopefully it will give those who just started uni a rough guide of what to expect.

1) Learn proper referencing / citation

Before I write this post, I sat down and asked myself about what I learned from uni, and the first thing that (surprisingly) popped out from my mind is the importance of proper in-text citation and referencing. You might wonder: Damn, what kind of tip is this? But, let me tell you, I almost failed the first assignment in my uni life because of the referencing part. I had to admit, I wasn't paying attention when the lecturer was explaining about the proper referencing style to us and I thought it was just unimportant until I got my marks for my first ever assignment. So people, don't ever learn from me; pay attention and learn proper referencing and citation style, trust me, it will benefit you until the end of your uni life.

2) Learn how to say YES

A part of uni life is about learning how to work with different people. Learning how to say yes when it comes to working with different people is somewhat important in uni because you will know get to learn how to deal with different personalities, which will benefit you in your working life in the future.

3) Learn how to say NO

Yes, sometimes you just have to learn how to say no. Know what you like and dislike. And there is no need to force yourself to do something that you are not comfortable with so that you can "fit in" a certain group of friends. For me, I won't feel pressured to go clubbing or drinking with my uni friends (not that I think it's a bad thing but that is just not my preference), and to be honest I won't feel left out because of that. My point is that learning how to say no is about making choices that feels right for you.

4) Always ask when you are unsure

This tip is not really something that I learned from uni but it's important to always ask your lecturer if you are unsure of the assignment brief or just anything related. Because if you don't ask, you might end up doing the wrong thing and eventually failing the assignment / module. If you are shy to ask in the class, you can always choose to email your lecturers. And I am glad and grateful that my lecturers were pretty helpful and responsive.

5) Learn how to prioritize and structure your life

When I was in uni, I had to juggle between my part-time jobs, events, social life, catching up with K-dramas and Running Man and so many more. That's why I can't stress how crucial it is to learn how to prioritize and structure your life. I always schedule my work and assignment deadlines using my planner so that I can have a nice structure, and not cram everything up last minute. Trust me, if you plan out your schedule, it will help to eliminate unnecessary emotional breakdowns throughout your uni life. ;)

6) Do well in your assignments and quizzes
Remember those quizzes that worth 10%? Don't ever belittle the 10% because that can make or break your grade.

7) Team work makes the dream work

I can't stress how freaking important team work is in my uni life. I had a lot of group assignments and I was (and still am) grateful for my team. I love how we contribute and work towards a common vision when it comes to group assignments. The good thing about my team was that we all have our own strengths; some are good in designing while some are good in conceptualizing or copywriting. So with our own expertise and good team work, it maximized our productivity.

8) Financial planning is important

Monthly-parking fees, meals, printing costs, some new clothes or maybe buying the latest pair of sneakers, a good couple rounds of drinking with your uni friends....and you are kinda broke. Learning how to manage your $$ in uni is super important so that you won't constantly get stressed out because of being broke. This is especially crucial when you are surrounded with rich friends; you might feel the peer pressure and you might feel the need to possess something that your rich friends have, but at the end of the day, it's important to know your budget and know what you really need.

9) Know your pace, keep your life balanced

Sometimes you just have to learn how to take things slow in uni and not getting too stressed out. When I first started my degree life, I was constantly worn-out because of assignments (because I was worried that I didn't have enough time to finish it) but then I realized those stress was actually unnecessary. Learning how to give yourself some time to breathe and taking things slow is important, especially when you are a uni student with different commitments simultaneously. Most importantly, you have to know your own pace and keep your life balanced by having a proper schedule (which goes back to point #5).

10) Surround yourself with positive people & be thankful for them

If you are with the wrong group of friends who are constantly making dramas in uni, chances are you are not going to enjoy your uni life and what's worse is that you will even lose focus and motivation in your studies. That's why you should always surround yourself with positive people and make a distance from those who are toxic and always bring you down. Not only that, you should always be grateful for those friends who are supportive, caring and always bringing the best out of you.

There were both rainbows and storms, but generally, I must say I did enjoy my uni life a lot and it was one of the most memorable phases in my life. Going to uni is definitely more than just attending classes and getting good grades; it's also about self-discovery - learning more about yourself through everyday encounters, picking yourself up after a storm and learning how to embrace and love yourself as well as the little blessings.

Goodbye uni life, it's time to embark on a new journey in life.

Hey all! August is my favourite month and you know why. 😏

I had an unforgettable 22nd birthday celebration with my family in Jo Malone, Pavilion last week. It was really thoughtful of them to invite me and my family for a mini tea party and pampering session on my birthday. Honestly, I couldn't thank the team more for this birthday surprise!

Upon entering the VIP room, we were greeted by the fragrance of Jo Malone's candle and of course, the delicious tea set that made us drool.

Thank you 21st Qi Pastries for the Jo Malone themed cake!! It was honestly too beautiful to be cut and ruined. 😭
And they also surprised me with a beautiful rose bouquet. How sweet of them! 😭

Fam 💘
With my fam and I made everyone wear white that day 🙈 Totally loving this coordination.
After having tea, we were treated to a luxurious hand and arm massage using their signature products in our preferred scent. It was extremely soothing and stress-relieving - a good therapeutic experience that left us feeling great, relaxed and exclusive. Last but not least, we were also introduced to the art of fragrance combining, which we learned about how to create different moods  for various occasions by combining different scents of your choice. In Jo Malone, it's all about personalisation.
With the woman that I can't live without 💗  Without her, I won't be who I am today.
With Wen Jing and Mei Ling from Jo Malone - they are honestly one of the most genuine and kind people that I have met in my life. And I am so grateful to be able to know them!
I am grateful for everything.

Hey there, welcome to my blog again! Today, I'm going to blog about my 22nd birthday dinner in Sanoook, Sunway Pyramid (Years have been going so fast lately, and I am already 22 omg).

Just in case you haven't heard of Sanoook, it is a Thai-Japanese fusion restaurant that serves really special fusion delicacies that you probably can't find elsewhere. When I first visited Sanoook and tried its dishes, I was impressed with the unique combination and presentation of two of my favourite cuisines, so I decided to have a birthday celebration with some of my close friends in Sanoook. Thank you Sanoook for hosting my friends and I with so much great food, drinks and of course, 101% hospitality. 💓

Honestly, I can't tell which dish is the best. Every dish tastes unique and amazing to me!
Marble (fruit) cake from Twenty First Qi Pastries - looks awesome, tastes amazing. I've been their regular customer since 3 years ago and they never failed to amaze me with their creations every single time. Lucy, the owner, is an extremely talented, humble and nice person. I absolutely admired her work and her passion in doing what she loves.
Surprise macaron tower from Twenty First Qi Pastries! They baked really tasty (not overly sweet) macarons!

Earl Grey and Matcha Madeleine Tower from L'ange Petit Patisserie

Mini unicorn donuts from Donut Worry, Be happy! I'm usually not a big fan of donuts because I don't really fancy sweet stuffs, but THESE donuts stole my heart. Not only do they look etremely adorable, but they also taste really great with the right amount of sugar woohoo!

Thank you BloomThis for sending me my favourite flowers.

What are birthdays without balloons? Thank you @loveursmiile for these blue and white balloons!

From the left: Adele, Alicia, Michelle, Karen, Tziaaa. I am blessed to know them through blogging/social media!
Melissa - knew this girl from blogging as well 3 years ago. Thanks for always be there for me!
From the left: Sabrina, Melanie, May, Jxhia. My uni life wouldn't be colorful without them and I hope our friendship never ceases even after graduating.

From the left: Jack, Shenmin, Annie, Coey. They are my close friends since foundation in college, always the craziest bunch.

With the nuffies, Emily and Shanel. Thanks for making time and bracing the KL jam to attend my birthday!
I wanna thank my friends for making their time to spend my birthday with me. A small gathering like this with the people that matter really meant so much to me.

A big shoutout to all the sponsors who made my birthday more memorable (and on point with the blue and white theme hehehe).

Last but not least, thank you for all your birthday wishes on my social media / via texts!

Turning 22 definitely makes me feel older, but at the same time, I am excited to see what the future has in store for me as it's just the beginning of a new chapter in my life. Being 22, some may feel lost and fear of the uncertainties in life while some may have already set their goals and known clearly what they want. If you are not the latter, you know what, it's okay.

Every day is a new opportunity for you to discover a little more about yourself. So, pick up a new skill, try different things out, do something out of your comfort zone...then you will be able to know what your strengths are, and most importantly, what your passions are.

Thank you for reading and I will talk to you again soon! x

POSTCARD FROM SIHANOUKVILLE

Dear you,

Here's a postcard from Sihanoukville.

If you haven't heard of this place, it's okay. I will be sending you more postcards from this lovely little province so that I can tell you more about it. Now, here's something you need to know, Sihanoukville is a beautiful coastal city in Cambodia.

This is my first time visiting Cambodia, and to be honest, I did not know what to expect before my trip. All thanks to Airasia, I got the privilege to be one of the first fews to discover and explore more about Sihanoukville through a direct flight from KL to Sihanoukville.

The flight from KL to Sihanoukville will take about 2 hours.
As it's Airasia's inaugural flight to Sihanoukville, passengers flocked together to take photos to commemorate this beautiful moment.
Upon reaching the airport, we hopped onto an exclusive tour bus and headed to Dara Independence Hotel.
Much-needed cooling welcome drink, thanks Dara Independence Hotel!
Then, we went to a property tour around Dara Independence Hotel. And this is the beautiful Infinity Ocean Pool that offers a panoramic view of the ocean.
There are a total of 128 rooms in Dara Independence Hotel: comfort deluxe, suites, graceful pavilions and luxurious villas to suit every taste, from intimate to grand to first lady elegance.
All rooms also come with a bathtub that allows you to soak and relax in a warm bath after a long day.
After refreshing ourselves, we headed out to explore the town a lil' and to get the local sim card. // Dress from The Stage Walk
We managed to catch this spectacular view of the sky unfolding into threads of pink, purple and blue. I felt as if I was encapsulated in a world of dreams and cotton candies.

We had dinner in the Sunset Restaurant, which is located in the hotel. Freshly-grilled seafood and local beer were served and we felt extremely pleased with our dinner.
If you come to this restaurant around 6pm, you will be able to catch a glorious sunset view from the restaurant.

What better way to end the day than a relaxing full body massage? Thank you Jouvence Spa for pampering us. (Yes, the spa is also located in the hotel!)

DAY 2

Rise and shine!
We woke up to this soft pastel-coloured sky in the morning. It looked like a painter has splashed and painted the sky with hues of pink, blue and purple. The view is extremely scenic, and I couldn't help but feel blessed to be able to waking up to such a beautiful view.
Started our day right with a wholesome breakfast buffet at Coral Restaurant in the hotel.
After breakfast, we headed to the jetty to start our island-hopping journey!
Off to the sea!
The boat ride to our first destination took about an hour! And thank god the ride did not make us queasy!

We finally arrived at the Sok San Beach Resort in Koh Rong Island! Tucked away from the major tourist spots, Sok San Beach Resort is a Khmer-styled beach resort boasting an amazing, natural environment.

How to go to Sok San Beach Resort?
The resort organizes daily boat shuttle from Sihanoukville Port 65 to its resort. The fare is $20 for adult and $10 for children [one way]!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE SOK SAN BEACH. With an immaculate white sandy beach with emerald, turquoise sea and a sky full of tufty clouds, hanging in the air like marshmallows, the environment definitely made Sok San beach a perfect secluded seaside retreat.

Sok San Beach Resort also offers a wide range of activities, both in the sea or land based activities. You can indulge in fishing, scuba diving, boating, kayaking through to trekking, cooking classes, bush walking, quad bike tours to just relaxing on the beach or enjoying a massage in their spa. | Dress from The Stage Walk
Memories made by the ocean will always stay in my heart.

The fun bunch! We all started this trip as strangers but ended this trip with fun and good memories with each other. ♡

I'm in love with this beach - it's overflowing with wonders and charms.

Got my beach essentials ready | sunscreen from Supergoop

Swimsuit from Pink N Proper
Lunch time!

After lunch, we took a boat ride to Koh Rong Island.

A lively, vibrant street filled with restaurants, pubs, massage centres (and tourists).
Our last island for the day was Koh Rong Samloem, which is another heaven for those who are looking for a peaceful getaway for relaxation.

Take a nap in this porch string and let life slow down to a mere crawl.
This cute doggy came out of nowhere and lied in front of me while we were taking pictures, how cute! I love this place even more and didn't want to leave because of it.

Back in Dara Independence Hotel after our island hopping, and of course, we had to catch the marvelous sunset again before we leave the next morning.

The view is just way too beautiful that it took my breath away. Standing at the edge of the sand, tasting the salt in the air, listening to the overlapping waves that were harmoniously calming and soul-soothing, watching the sky painting itself with assortment of soft colours and gradually transitioning from day to night...I was paralysed by the beauty of this beach. I felt truly relaxed, serene and blessed.
Took a dip in the Infinity Ocean Pool while watching the sunset. It felt magical and surreal.

NO FILTER. I REPEAT, NO FILTER.

One of the greatest highlights of this trip is being able to meet new people during this trip. Shoutout to my roommate and #ootd buddy, Tiffany!

Later at night, we had a splendid dinner in Naia Resort. The food was AMAZING.

Thank you Naia Resort for the dinner! If you ever visit Sihanoukville, definitely check this resort out!

DAY 3

It was our last day in Sihanoukville and we visited the CDF duty free shop in the town as well as the Sihanoukville Central Market.

A trip to the central market is definitely worth it. We got to discover the vibrant side of Sihanoukville; it felt amazing being able to experience the different sides of the province.
I hat you at hello.

In Central Market, you will be able to find a lot of local-made products that you can bring home as souvenirs.

Joom reap lea (means goodbye in Khmer), Sihanoukville!

That's all about my trip in Sihanoukville and I must say, I was impressed. I began this journey without any expectations, but came home with an entire different perspective for Sihanoukville. This place is just stunning and charming in its own ways. The people were so amicable and kind. The beaches (oh my god) stole my heart away. I really miss Sok San beach, it is like a heaven on earth. To be honest, Sihanoukville is so underrated and I can tell you that a visit to this place will never disappoint.

Now, book your direct flight to this paradise with Airasia from rate as low as RM80!

Send me a postcard if you ever pay a visit to Sihanoukville.

With loves,
Jessica.

Don't forget to check out my vlog too!

THIS THING IS A GAME CHANGER

Today I want to blog about something personal and intimate with y'all, and guess what, it's about period. Yes, the auntie that visits every girl monthly. 🙈

Well, just a disclaimer that this post is written in collaboration with Kotex, which is honestly my favourite sanitary pad brand. I have been a loyal customer of this brand even before our collaboration.

So Kotex has relaunched their Kotex Total Protection range with enhanced features for improved leakage protection. Being the most premium range offering all round protection against sudden leakage during heavy flow all day and night, the Kotex Total Protection range comes in 5 lengths: 24cm (new to the range), 28cm, 32cm, 35cm and 41cm for overnight!

WHAT'S SO SPECIAL ABOUT THE KOTEX TOTAL PROTECTION RANGE?

With the revolutionary features that provide all round protection against sudden gushes, I no longer have to worry about leakages in whatever I do:

If I want to go for Yoga classes or do some workout that involved stretches or big movements during my heavy flow, no problem! That's because the Kotex Total Protection sanitary pads have side guards that help to prevent leakages. In that case, I can carry on with my Yoga and workout classes without any worries!

If I want to wear white/bright-coloured dresses for events / taking #ootds while having period, no fear! Because I know the back pro-active guards and side guards got me protected. I no longer have to ask my friends to check if I had any leakages / stains on my back. 🙈 (Seriously, I know how period stains on light-coloured clothing can be such a pain in the ass, but trust me, it won't happen anymore with Kotex Total Protection!!)

Now I also don't have to worry about finding myself a washroom to get my pads change during long rides while travelling, again, all thanks to the side and back guards that keep me covered and protected throughout my journey hehe!

I know that I am well-protected no matter what I do and where I am with the Kotex Total Protection sanitary pads. With them, I don't have to restrict myself in doing what I want! Yes, it is totally a game changer and I am so grateful for this invention, especially when I have heavy flows.

If you would like to experience Kotex's new and improved range, simply fill in the form HERE to redeem your samples! 💗

Hi there! If you are following my Instagram, you would have probably known that I recently travelled to Taipei with my parents for a 4D3N trip. It's our first time in Taipei and I have no idea why it took me so long to visit this city. I've alwayssssss wanted to go to Taipei because of Jay Chou hahaha.

Some of you actually sent me DMs on Instagram, asking me to blog and share about my trip. I am still in the midst of editing and organising my photos (there will be a vlog as well!), but today I thought I would give an overview of my trip by including my itinerary and some main photos from each attraction in this post. I will try to include as many details as possible so that this will be a guide for those of you who are planning to visit Taipei soon.

❀ FLIGHT ❀
We flew to Taipei with AirAsia. The journey from KL to Taipei took around 4 hours and 40 minutes. Our fare was around RM793/person including seats selection, 25kg baggage to and fro (which was shared among 3 of us), and in-flight meals.

❀ ACCOMODATION

We had a pleasant stay in Amba Taipei Xi Men Ding and Amba Taipei Song Shan during our trip. Both of the hotels are located in really great location, and their rooms are spacious and clean. I will be blogging about these 2 hotels in detail, so stay tuned.

❀ TRANSPORTATION

An EasyCard (悠遊卡) allows you to ride the metro and bus conveniently, besides, you can also shop in Family Mart, 7-11, and other convenience stores with this card. You can easily get this card at all MRT stations & 7-11!

HOTEL REVIEW: AMBA HOTEL XIMENDING & AMBA HOTEL SONGSHAN

Hey guys! As promised in my previous post, today I will be writing a review of the hotels that I stayed during my trip in Taipei: Amba Ximending and Amba Songshan.

Designed for the savvy urban traveler who appreciates creativity, connectivity and conservation, Amba Hotels & Resorts adds an element of fun to travel through its modern, playful design, inviting social areas, and energetic team.

The concept of the Amba Ximending hotel is unique, quirky and artistic, at the same time, it also integrates elements of eco-friendly materials and all natural products in its design.

Amba Ximending is a part of the Eslite shopping complex in which it occupies 5 levels. Located right in the heart of Ximending, you'll be able to get easy access to a street full of beauty and fashion stores as well as restaurants and street snacks. Also, Taipei Metro Ximen Station is only 5 minutes walk away!
Amba Ximending has a total of 160 rooms, with 6 different room categories. We stayed in the extra large room, which consists of two twin beds and a sitting area which can be converted into an extra bed.

All rooms come with the basic amenities, such as bath gel, shampoo, hair conditioner, tooth brush, tooth paste, shower cap, cotton buds, hair dryer, electric kettle with free coffee and tea supplies, etc. I also notice that the bathroom amenities that they provide are made from natural, quality ginger ingredients (I freaking love their hair conditioner hahaha)!

Amba Ximending also has a communal space area for the hotel guests to read, chit-chat, or even work.
There is also a restaurant called Chiba (吃吧) and music lounge bar called Tingba (听吧) at the same level. Definitely check out their website for upcoming gigs and events!

Ximending shopping district is right on the hotel’s doorsteps. There are a lot of fashion boutiques, local street food and restaurants in this area.

We checked-out the following day and moved to Amba Songshan hotel, which is just a 20-minute-drive away from Amba Ximending.

Just recently launched in 2016, Amba Songshan features a contemporary, design-led hotel with a striking exterior.

The communal space / reception area in Amba Songshan offers a stunning panoramic views of the Taipei 101 and Keelung River. Simply amazing.

As compared to Amba Ximending, I think the rooms in Amba Songshan are more contemporary in design, emanating a minimalistic vibe for an urban living while the rooms in Amba Ximending are more inspired by the area's cinematic and musical heritage.

Of course, the rooms have got all the basic amenities, but I would also like to add that ALL room types in Amba Songshan have a bath tub, sufficient universal power outlets as well as USB charging ports, a Nespresso coffee machine and even a bluetooth speaker!

Night view from our hotel.

This is their medium room that offers a great view of the city. Besides, what I really love about the rooms in Amba Songshan is that they are really spacious, bright and clean, which offers a truly ultimate comfort experience for their guests.

Overlooking the beautiful Keelung River, Que is a contemporary and inviting all-day-dining restaurant that is located at the 17th floor.

Amba is all about incorporating eco elements into designs and arts. In Amba Songshan, you will be able to see all these giant handcrafted eco bamboo lanterns hanging high above the ceiling as decoration. How creative and interesting!

One of the BEST things about staying in Amba Songshan is that the Metro station is just RIGHT OPPOSITE the hotel. What's even better is that there's a skybridge that connects the hotel to the metro station. Unbeatable convenience.

Not forgetting to mention, the hotel also provides free shuttle bus service to Taipei 101, which is only 5 minutes away!

The famous Raohe Night Market is just five minutes’ walk away from Amba Songshan!

Amba Ximending or Amba Songshan?
It actually really depends which area you prefer to stay at. Ximending is more lively, vibrant and young while Songshan gives me more of a slow-paced, relaxing, holiday vibe. Personally, I prefer Amba Songshan more. Nonetheless, my parents and I had an amazing experience at both Amba Ximending and Amba Songshan. We felt like home, had great sleep, and woke up feeling all pumped up to kick start our day. Also, the staffs in the hotels can speak fluent English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and even Japanese, Korean and Spanish. I am impressed!

How to go to Amba Ximending from the airport?
We took the Taoyuan Airport Metro to A1 Taipei Main Station, then from there, we took the Taipei Metro (MRT) Nangang Blue Line (westbound toward Yongning) for one stop to Ximen station (exit 6). Then we walked approximately 5 minutes to reach the hotel. Alternatively, you can just take the taxi from A1 Taipei Main Station right to Amba Ximending.

How to go to Amba Songshan from the airport?
There are several ways that you can get to Amba Songshan from the airport: hotel airport pick-up service, taxi, Taoyuan Airport Metro and Express Airport Bus. Click HERE for detailed directions!

TRAVEL GUIDE: PHUKET 4D3N ITINERARY

If you are looking for a short beach vacation (that won't burn a hole in your pocket), why not pay a visit to Phuket?

I'm so glad that I get to visit Phuket with 2 of my uni friends, Melissa and Sabrina, for a short 4D3N trip last week. It was something like a graduation trip for us as we wanted to reward ourselves and spend time together after our graduation. Before we decide to go to Phuket, we had a dilemma of choosing where to go. We wanted somewhere fun, involves beaches and affordable. After doing our research, we finally came to a conclusion - PHUKET.

❀ FLIGHT ❀
We took a direct flight to Phuket via AirAsia and the return air ticket was only RM235 per person (excluding baggage & meals).

❀ ACCOMODATION ❀

HOTEL IKON PHUKET : 400/2 Patak Road, Karon, Phuket, Thailand 83100

We stayed at Hotel IKON Phuket, which is a relatively new boutique hotel located in Karon. I love this vicinity because it's less crowded as compared to Patong and Phuket town. But don't worry, this area has a lot to offer too. The beautiful Karon beach is just 5 mins drive away from Hotel IKON. Apart from that, there are a lot of local restaurants and convenience stores nearby the hotel too.

There are 4 different room types in Hotel IKON: Superior, Ocean, Ocean Premier & Triple.

We stayed in the Ocean room and requested for an extra bed. The 34sqm superior room features a comfortable double bed (actually it can accommodate 3 of us hahaha), a TV, a balcony and a marble-furnished bathroom with all the basic toiletries (which we are obsessed with). Besides that, the hotel also provides free WiFi to all guests!

Balcony
Absolutely love this Insta-worthy corner in our room!!

Breakfast buffet in IKON cafe!
Apart from having a spa centre and a gym, the hotel also has 3 restaurants: IKON Cafe (for breakfast and lunch), Ombre Bar & Restaurant and IKON Bites.

Breakfast by the pool

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone of you who are planning to visit Phuket because it's really clean and INSTA-WORTHY. For those who are obsessed with marble (like me), you will definitely squeal in excitement when you walk into the bathroom.

❀ ITINERARY ❀

Day 1: Hotel check-in → Late lunch at Mama Jin restaurant → Patong night market → Dinner at Mr.Good Patong Seafood → Book our island-hopping tour with an agency in Patong

Day 2: Hotel buffet breakfast → Phi Phi Island → Lunch at Phi Phi Island → Sightseeing Viking Cave → Swimming / snorkelling at Khai Island → Karon Beach → Dinner at Ann Restaurant
Day 3: Hotel buffet breakfast → James Bond Island → Canoeing at Hong Island → Panak Island

Day 4: Chill in the hotel → Karon temple → Off to the airport

❀ DAY ONE ❀

We reached our hotel at 4pm+ on day one, so we decided to pop by Mama Jin restaurant for a late lunch (which is just a five-minute walk away from Hotel IKON).

Mama Jin serves pretty decent Thai delicacies at truly affordable prices. They did not disappoint at all!

After lunch, we took a tuk-tuk to Patong night market (which has a lot of street food), and walked to Mr.Good Patong Seafood for dinner before we checked out the party place in Patong Beach

(Anyway, we think that Patong Beach will be an interesting place to go for those who enjoy drinking / parties / night life. For us, we didn't really enjoy it and found it disturbing as there were many people approaching us with obscene images of their ping pong show).

Mr.Good Patong Seafood - they taste mediocre, but were quite affordable.
How can you not get a coconut drink when you are in Thailand?!

After that, we went to a random local traveling agency to book our island-hopping tours. They have a lot of package choices for island-hopping, depending on which islands you would like to go. Eventually, we booked 2 different round-trip speedboat tours from the agency, which I will explain further below!
❀ DAY TWO ❀

Woke up super early for breakfast because the tour driver would come and pick us up from our hotel to the departure lounge.

Off to Phi Phi Island!! FYI, Phi Phi Island is a small archipelago, which was made up of six islands: Ko Phi Phi Don, Ko Phi Phi Leh, Ko Mai Phai ('Bamboo Island'), Ko Yung ('Mosquito Island'), Bida Nok and Bida Nai.

We hopped on a speedboat after tour-briefing and off to the sea! Our first stop was Maya Bay (where 'The Beach' movie was filmed at) and we were greeted by the jewel blue sea and the ocean breeze.

Along the way, we got to take a glimpse of the Viking Cave, which houses the swiftlet birds’ nests.

Here at Khai Island after having lunch in Phi Phi Don.

Anyway, we were slightly disappointed with Phi Phi Don because it was so crowded that all the speedboats just stopped by the bay and we couldn't take any beautiful pictures. :(

Found this area in Khai Island which has no crowds so we seized the opportunity to take nice pictures hahaha!

Our island-hopping tour ended at 4pm, and we asked the driver to drop us at Karon Beach instead of our hotel so that we can catch the sunset.
Guess what? We think that Karon Beach is the best of all. It's less crowded as compared to Phi Phi Island and Khai Island.

Capturing moments
Chasing sunsets
We had dinner at Ann Restaurant (nearby our hotel), their pineapple fried rice and pad thai were really tasty!

❀ DAY THREE ❀
Day three - another island-hopping day!
The boat ride was so much better than day two, apparently the waves were pretty calm this day.

Here we were - James Bond Island, which is famous for its limestone rock formations and beautiful natural landscape.

Bikini from Wandersea.co

After visiting James Bond Island, we headed to Muslim village for lunch (halal food only)! There were also shops selling souvenirs in the village so feel free to shop a bit after lunch.

After filling our tummy with so much good food, we were all pumped up for our next activity - canoeing in Hong Island.

Honestly, this was one of my favourite activities throughout my trip! We felt amazed by the natural beauty of the hidden caves and lagoon as we paddled around. (You should definitely check out my vlog for more!!)

After canoeing, the tour brought us to Naka island for an excursion. This place offers activities such as snorkelling, parachuting and jet-skiing (yes, you need to pay for these activities).

We didn't go for any of the activities (due to the lack of time), but we think it's so enjoyable to just lie on the beach, watching people parachuting and having fun.

❀ DAY FOUR ❀

After spending two consecutive days on the beach (not to mention, the insane boat ride on our 1st day), we decided to chill and relax on our last day. So we just spent the entire morning and afternoon in the hotel. We had breakfast by the pool, took a few pictures in our Instaworthy room and the pool. Then, we finally headed out for a late lunch at a random restaurant nearby the Karon temple.

Here at Karon temple (within walking distance from our hotel). The Karon night market will also be held here every Tuesday and Friday!

So that's all about my Phuket 4D3N trip! I hope you guys enjoyed reading and don't forget to watch my Phuket travel vlog!!
